------- Permit Information -------

During the Sno-Park season, a Daily Sno-Park Pass ($25) or a Seasonal Sno-Park Pass with the Groomed Trails Sticker ($120) is required to park in all non-motorized Sno-Parks in the Lake Wenatchee Area. This pass is for the vehicle only. No additional passes are required.

Self-pay stations are available in both the North and South State Park areas for day passes. A credit card machine is also located in the South Park for purchasing daily or seasonal passes.

Permits can also be purchased from local vendors including Plain Hardware and KMC Winter Pro-Shop. Online permits are available at epermits.parks.wa.gov.

------- XC Trail Descriptions -------

Most trails are groomed with a full skate lane and a single classic track.

Lake Wenatchee South Park and Kahler Glen (9.6 miles / 15.4 km)

The Nason Ridge Sno-Park at Kahler Glen and the South Lake Wenatchee Sno-Park offer about 15.4 km of groomed, interconnected trails. The South State Park has 9.3 km of trails with several short loops and longer routes through forest and along the lakeshore. Kahler Glen Golf Course provides 6.1 km of trails with great views, reliable snow, and access to the Nason Ridge system.

Nason Ridge, Upper and Lower (12.4 miles / 20 km)

This 20 km groomed system begins at the Nason Ridge Sno-Park at Kahler Glen. It can also be accessed from the South Lake Wenatchee Sno-Park, which adds 2 km. Lower Nason offers 7 km of rolling groomed terrain. At the 5 km point, a challenging 13.7 km loop begins Upper Nason. Upper Nason climbs 1,500 feet to reach 5 km of open ridge-top terrain with wide views of Lake Wenatchee and the Cascade Mountains.

Lake Wenatchee North Park (3.4 miles / 5.5 km)

The North Park area provides 5.5 km of scenic groomed trails that loop through campgrounds, follow the river and lake shores, and pass through quiet forest.

Chiwawa Sno-Park (7.0 miles / 11.3 km) (Dog friendly)

This Sno-Park offers 11.1 km of groomed trails: the 7.6 km See and Ski Trail and the 3.5 km Squirrel Run. The two trails connect 3 km from the parking lot by crossing Chiwawa Loop Road, forming a loop. Both trails pass through beautiful forest, and See and Ski offers excellent views of the Wenatchee River. The ungroomed Flying Loop provides a challenging 10 km marked ski route.

Dogs are allowed on the XC ski trails at Chiwawa Sno-Park after 10 a.m.

------- Snowshoe Trail Descriptions -------

There are more than 12 miles of volunteer-built and volunteer-maintained snowshoe trails.

Please stay off groomed ski surfaces except at marked crossings. This protects skier safety and helps maintain trail quality.

Lake Wenatchee South Park Snowshoe Loop (2.5 miles)

This loop also provides access to Nason Ridge and Kahler Glen. The route begins at the lake beach and follows the Wenatchee River downstream. After about half a mile, a short spur leads to the confluence of Nason Creek and the Wenatchee River. The trail then enters a Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Fir forest with frequent wildlife signs. After a road crossing, turning right continues the lake loop. Turning left leads to the Kahler Glen trail network. Farther along, a turnoff to the Nason Ridge Snowshoe Route appears 1.3 miles into the loop. This section offers wide views of the valley. The loop eventually returns to the beach where you started.

Nason Ridge Snowshoe Route (3 miles out and back)

Starting from the Nason Ridge Sno-Park, the trail crosses the Kahler Glen Golf Course before climbing toward Nason Ridge. Views begin around 1.5 miles, and the route reaches the ridgetop at about 3 miles, ending at the XC ski trail. Please avoid walking on any groomed ski surface. This is the most difficult snowshoe route in the area, although the grade is similar to an old logging road. It can also be accessed from the South Sno-Park.

Lake Wenatchee North Park Snowshoe Loop (2.3 miles)

Beginning at the North Sno-Park, the trail descends to the Wenatchee River and follows it upstream to the North Beach of Lake Wenatchee. The route then climbs the terminal moraine of an ancient glacier before reaching a junction. Turning right returns to the parking lot in about half a mile. Turning left adds an additional 1.3 miles of rolling terrain.

Chiwawa Sno-Park Rockridge Snowshoe Trail (1.5 or 3.8 miles)

This semi-loop begins near the Squirrel Run XC trail. The route climbs gradually through a Ponderosa Pine forest, crossing natural drainages and the XC trail several times. Large glacial boulders line the trail. The route ends at a viewpoint with surrounding mountain and forest scenery after about 600 feet of elevation gain.

The Camp Store located in the South Park Offering snowshoe rentals, coffee, hot chocolate, snacks, and sleds. Open Fri-Sat 10am-4pm.

Kahler Mountain Club located near Nason Ridge Sno-Park Open daily, 10a-5p. Offering Snowshoe rentals, Ski Rentals, and Sno-Park Passes.

------- Additional Information -------

Warming Hut is a Day use only facility. No overnight stays. The hut is located at the intersection of the ski and snowshoe trails on the west saddle of Upper Nason Ridge. It is available for skiers and snowshoers to warm up and enjoy a fire in the wood stove. Firewood and fire-starting materials will be stocked once the sno-cat can reach the hut.
