It looks like we are not going to avoid smokey skies and poor air quality all summer, though we do seem to be getting pretty lucky overall. Earlier this week we had some smoke roll in, and we are likely to be dealing with smoke on and off throughout the rest of fire season. Keep an eye on the air quality sensors we have at Quigley Trails Park and Galena Lodge if we do get more smokey days. BCRD AQI

Ketchum Ranger District reports that their crew got back from Pioneer Cabin last week. They were working on the four trails that go to Pio Cabin. The crew also cleared the rest of the High Ridge trail to the top where it climbs out of the forest. This week they will take two days to go down the entirety of the Osberg Ridge trail and start getting into some project work. KRD also reports they have contract crews continuing work on Greenhorn and Fox Creek trails.

We are deep into summer in our valley and the trails continue to be busy! As always, be aware of your surroundings, be kind, and stay safe! Enjoy the trails!

Forest Service reports:

Deer Creek Band This band is in Curran Gulch. This band will graze towards Kinsey Creek. (Trail 160, 318, 319)

Warm Springs Band This band is grazing at the top of Warfield they will graze up there for the week before making their way down towards Warm Springs Road. From there the band will graze up Castle Creek. (Trail 141)

Baker Creek Band This band is grazing in the Fox Creek drainage down low. They will graze down towards the bottom of the drainage and then head back up towards Fox Peak. (Trails 129, 311)

Shaw Creek This band is grazing near Packer Gulch and will graze towards Placer Creek. This band will truck off the allotment on 08/03.

East Fork Band This band is grazing in Spring Canyon they will trail towards Sawmill Gulch.

Lake Creek Band This band is above the fishing ponds in the lake creek drainage. They will continue to graze northeast towards the headwaters of Lake Creek.

Corral Creek Band This band is moving down out of Uncle Johns Gulch, and they will graze up Corral Creek Towards the Pioneer Cabin Trailhead.

Elkhorn Band This band is in the Keystone drainage they will graze down and back up the drainage before moving into Milligan Gulch.

Cove Creek Band This band is grazing near Finley Gulch and will graze into Moran Creek. (Trail 979)

NOTES & REMINDERS:

Quigley Road is reported to be closed July 8- October 31. If you are recreating out Quigley Canyon, follow the detour signs and for any questions reach out to info@quigley-farm.org.

Wood River Trail tunnels:

- The Elkhorn Tunnel will remain open during Elkhorn Road closure.

SNRA Headquarters will be open weekdays from 8:30 to 4:30, June 15–September 7^th.
