If we had a weather machine and could adjust the knobs for the perfect day we would dial it in to today's forecast with temps in the mid 20's, light winds, some snow, and some sunshine. It was hopping in the OC and parking lot yesterday, but there were plenty of peaceful, quiet kilometers to explore and the same trails will be open today. Check out lower Sleigh Road, Aither, Ayers, Skater's Waltz if you haven't ventured onto those yet this season. Look for the grooming team's progress on the automatically-updating trail list and map here.

We had our 15 minutes (actually 2 minutes) of fame yesterday when NBC5 featured Trapp Family Lodge during a Nordic skiing spot for the news last night. Many thanks to Ann and Cheryl (and Sam, of course) for their perfect testimonials. Love that the snow was falling during the footage, too. Check out the clip here.

It's a lovely day to go check out the art exhibit Stone and Snow by renowned local sculptor Christopher Curtis. The exhibit can be accessed by the overflow parking area and wedding meadow and you can say hello to our Scottish Highland cows while you are over there. Stone and Snow is a striking 5-piece winter exhibition honoring the 75th anniversary of the Trapp Family Lodge in 2025. Set against the breathtaking alpine backdrop of the Green Mountains, the collection brings together the timelessness of stone with the fleeting beauty of snow, creating a visual dialogue between endurance and ephemerality. Curtis’s large-scale sculptures reflect both the rugged strength of the natural world against the backdrop of the delicate intricacies of winter, drawing inspiration from the resilience of the Lodge's storied history and rich heritage as well as the seasonal and elemental forces that have shaped its storied existence. Each piece invites visitors to reflect on the intertwining of nature, craftsmanship, and the enduring legacy of the Trapp Family Lodge. More info about Chris Curtis here.
