Today's pic was taken yesterday Tuesday on Sugar Road to provide some evidence that we are still skiing and still have a good amount of snow on our few open trails.

Chilly start to the morning with the Trail Crew arriving to 6F temps this morning to start working on some very firm snow. The temp will top out about 26F today, but the wind is gone and the sun is shining making it a nice day to get on the trails. The groomers have got Sugar Road, Fox Track, Parizo Downhill, and Cabin Trail ready so far and will be getting on Parizo Uphill soon and hopefully find enough snow on Russell Knoll to give skiers some additional terrain today. With these temps and thinner snow they are focused on pushing some machine-made snow onto the problem spots and going over and tilling trails three or four times to get the snow into better shape. This takes more time than chugging along at 9mph when it is packed powder, but will get the snow softer and more consistent. Please stay on the open trails and ski with caution, as there will be some thin and icy spots. Advanced skiers only should venture uphill beyond Picnic Knoll. You can see grooming progress on the GPS-tracked map and trail list here. The Outdoor Center is open 8:30AM to 5PM.

All snowshoe trails except Blue and Orange are open. There are plenty of thin and getting-thinner spots on the other trails, but the snowshoes will also provide traction in addition to flotation as you get into higher snow. We are still requiring snowshoes or skis on all trails, as we expect to get more snow in the coming weeks and cannot have the trail post-holed up from bare boots sinking in.

The Cabin is closed for service until at least Friday. We have the Cabin unlocked for folks to take a breather out of the elements, but please do not leave any trash/crumbs and do not start a fire. We will need to lock it, if there is food waste as bears are starting to wake up all over the state. We will post here if we can re-open next weekend.
