Today's pic of the Parizo Downhill was submitted by a regular skier here. Conditions on all trails, but especially this downhill, have been sublime the last several days with comfortable temps each day.

We added a bit of snow last night that is currently being groomed in and more big fat flakes continue to fall. Cloudy skies today after some bluebird sunny days with temps getting into the mid 20's and light wind. The team will be grooming most trails today and you can follow their path with the pulse here. The Outdoor Center is open 830AM to 5PM.

The Cabin is open 10AM to 330PM. Soups du jour of the day today are Ginger Vegetable Lentil, Chicken Noodle, and Split Pea with Ham. Treat yourself to a Kaffeehaus pastry and hot drinks and warm up or dry off by the fire, but don't get so comfortable you don't want to ski down. Two reminders: (1) the Cabin needs to lock up at 330PM every day and (2) the Cabin is cash only.

This weekend's forecast with some very low temps is forcing some event changes:

- The Tour de Stowe will be postponing to Saturday, March 7. Details will be updated on the Stowe Nordic webpage.

- The von Trapp Olympic Party has been cancelled. We knew planning an evening event on February 7 had the potential for weather changes and at least it needs to change because of cold and not rain, but we are still bummed. That said there are still lots of ways to celebrate the Olympics with others, including:

*Join us at the von Trapp Bierhall, which can be your Olympics headquarters the next few weeks starting with the Opening Ceremony on Friday 2/6. There will be a 14' x 8' screen at the Bierhall for the duration of the Winter Olympics so make your reservations in advance and catch your favorite winter sport up on the big screen through the closing ceremonies on February 22! Food and drink specials will be available throughout the Olympics.

*Bivo will be hosting some LIVE (which means 5:30AM :) ) viewing parties to cheer on their sponsored athletes Ben Ogden and Julia Kern. Details here for these February 10 and February 18 events.

*Cochran's Ski Area will be hosting their usual Friday night downhill skiing and dinner event, which will turn into a viewing party of the Opening Ceremony this Friday 2/6. You can't beat an evening of alpine skiing, pierogies, cheesesteak, and Olympic viewing (unless of course you traded the alpine skiing for nordic skiing!)
