Feb 19th:  A light snowfall in PLPP on Wednesday night, with about 1 cm of snow accumulated over the grooming shift that ended just after midnight. 15 to 25 cm's of snow has fallen accumulations since Saturday; about 5 cm's has fallen over the last 48 hours. High winds have led to drifting and some snow bombs, but most of the icy base (from a 6 week drought and some warm temperatures) should now be well covered.

The weekend storm has brought the first significant snowfall since early January, but with the abundant December snow, there is generally a reasonable snow base in PLPP, especially at higher elevations. The base was starting to thin at low elevations and some hazards may exist, including uneven surfaces, and possible slush or ice (the ground and marshy areas are warmer than normal this year). A few small patches of ice and dirt were starting to come up on Packers and Come along in a couple spots before the new snow. There was a bare spot on lower Pocaterra at a sun exposed picnic table (off the main trail).
