Today's pic is of a skier climbing Yerrick's Yodel. We still hear this called Owl's Howl, but it was renamed years ago to honor longtime Outdoor Center director Charlie Yerrick. It's a beautiful trail through the hemlocks and is two-way travel now.

We are still getting calls asking if we have any snow and if we are open yet. We can hardly contain ourselves when we answer 'YES! We have been open since November 14, we have lots of great snow, you need to get in your car now and come for a ski, and then snowshoe up to the chapel to pay penance for missing so many wonderful days already.' We know that the rest of life can get in the way of maximizing skiing time, but if the above is you please know we have a lot of lovely snow and it looks like we will be adding to it all day. Forecasts are ranging from 4-6", though we often get an elevation bonus. Temps will stay between 20F and 30F with light wind. The same trails as yesterday are open and you can see the full list here along with live GPS tracking of the groomers on the map. Trail Crew will be letting the snow pile up before grooming and using today to work on currently closed trails to hopefully get them open after this snow settles. Supplies are starting to be shuttled up to the Cabin and we are aiming for a Saturday 12/13 opening up there. The Outdoor Center is open 9AM to 5PM for all your rental, shopping, bathrooming, kid entertaining, and day/season pass needs.

Yesterday we ran into Ted Thorndike, who along with co-host Mike Carey, started the Octagon podcast and we wanted to highlight their work for those who haven't tuned in yet. From Ted: "The Octagon Podcast explores the stories, people and places that make Stowe, Vermont so legendary. Through a curated list of diverse guests the goal of the Octagon is to build community and tell the unique stories that make up this special town." You can find all episodes
here and find one with our own Kristina von Trapp
here and ski instructor superstar Jan Reynolds
here. Download and listen on the trail (as long as you can hear the groomers to scootch off the trail!).
