February 17^th Grooming Report

50,000 Views!

Something exciting must be happening at Trail Creek Nordic Center; Google reached out today informing us that a collection of our images on the Google Maps link reached the milestone of 50,000 views today and that’s probably just a fraction of the traffic the club website receives about Trail Creek Nordic Center and the JHSC Nordic programs.  It’s kind of amazing how what was and still is in the summer, a simple ranch, has grown to be a place of joy, fitness, and learning in the winter!

That winter phenomenon is somewhat more phenomenal today in that we are in the midst of howling winds as part of a tempestuous February snow storm.  3-5 inches of snow has fallen in the past 24 hours with forecasts of more to come throughout the week.  Never fear, the grooming equipment was hard at it today, making places to ski even in conditions like today.

The roller began the day, grooming in the Mug’s Meadow connector as well as Faceplant which is still just a bit thin for the Husky.  The Husky then proceeded to groom every other recently groomed trail.  Many classic tracks were set and should remain skiable in wooded areas with the current light snowfall.  The fields are definitely drifting so heading for the woods would be a good plan today.
