January 28th Grooming Report

Adventures at Trail Creek!

The JHSC Nordic programs have been having all sorts of adventures at Trail Creek already this week.  In the picture above, one of the Lollipoppers lost her first tooth at the Beaver Pond Hill and is proudly showing off the void in her mouth.  If you look closely, you will see that other Lollipoppers are proudly showing their own missing teeth.  The thought of losing a tooth in all that snow is rather scary, however it appears as if the tooth was recovered and most likely dwelling with the tooth fairy now.

The Devos have also been seriously making the rounds, the picture below shows that they’ve been to the furthest reaches of Trail Creek, making it all the way out to the old boilers.  Way to go kids!  If you’ve ever wondered about the old boiler sitting out there, here is an interesting article that mentions it from the Jackson Hole Historical Society.

Turning our attention to today, there is currently a forecast of 1-2 inches of snow which will be much appreciated.  The Husky was out this morning, covering pretty much every trail except for Woolsey Woods.  Most of the pass focused on the skate lanes as classic tracks are holding nicely in the firm snow.  Skiing all in all is quite lovely.

A reminder that the Close Field will be busy with high school racing Friday and Saturday and closed to public skiing.

Groomer’s choice for today would be to check out Homesite.
