Making the Most of It!

Thanks to Coach Julia for sending in a video of the Teewinots making the most of what has been a very warm spring.  As long as you can find it, slushy snow can be a lot of fun and these Teewinots look to be taking full advantage of the warm conditions.

You too might want to make the most of your skiing opportunities today as it might not be possible in the not too distant future.  Yesterday’s warm and windy conditions did do some pretty significant damage to our snow base.  While it is still possible to ski from the cabin to the woods without leaving frozen water, quite a few holes and additional icy patches have developed.   The Husky was able to groom today, however the tiller did have to be raised in a few places.

When you reach the higher elevation woods however, things are mostly in pretty good shape yet.  A few more icy patches appeared and some of the sunnier part of Moose Loop struggled a bit yesterday, but much is like the image below with good coverage.  While perhaps not an Olympic caliber Nordic skiing experience today, it will still work and who knows how long it will stick around.
