Ran the skate lane wth the snowmobile. Was able to scratch up a little loose snow on the trail. This should make a nice ski surface but you will find a very firm base under the powdery layer. This maybe a challenge in some places particularly in sunny spots that have gone thru many freeze/thaw cycles. 

The classic track is what it is. With out a good snow it will be difficult to reset.
