Trail Conditions: Update

A fresh few cm of new snow fell over night. 

East and West side trails had the skate lanes done this morning .

Classic tracks were set on Thursday March 26

Classic - Fair with shallow and thin snow sections.

With recent snowfall, Strathcona Wilderness Centre trails are now closed for hikers. Our groomers are packing the trails for cross-country ski season.

Another small snow fall last night and this morning with about 5 cm of fresh snow  

A full reset will happen this evening for both classic and skate.  

7 am West side of trails: Being worked on first this morning for skate lanes to be completed (Moose and Multipurpose)

East side of trails to be worked on after 8 am for skate lanes. 

**Tracks need to be skied in**

Another 5 cm of snow fall last night.  

The classic track was reset Friday evening      Jan 2 and with the snow fall will need to be skied in 

Skate lanes will be re packed this morning

There is currently and were light flurries last night and this morning at SWC. 

This evening there will be a full reset of all the trails for both classic and skate lanes.  

This morning the west and east sode trails are being re scraped for the skate lanes.  

So far Moose, Deer, Ridgeway, Owl have been completed.   Working on finishing Wagon, Coyote and Fox.

Grooming Notice

Skate lanes have been groomed on the west side: Moose, Multi, Deer, and Old Ridge Way.
On the east side, Owl, Fox, and Old Ridge Way have also been completed.

Work is currently underway on Wagon and Coyote.

Classic tracks are icy this morning. Conditions should soften slightly once the sun comes up.  Skate lanes are less icy.

Grooming is expected to be completed by approximately 9:30 a.m., as additional passes are being made to help reduce icy conditions.

Due to equipment challenges grooming is still in process.  

Trails are in fair condition due to icey sections and debris from winds.  

Multi purpose was completed but the focus will be on wagon and owl on the east side, then back to the west side for moose and deer.  

Be aware of debris on both classic and skate lanes.  Classic tracks are icey.

Land Trails

East Trails have been reset and are in good condition 

West trails was last reset march 3rd and fresh corduroy this morning and are in good condition  

Classic : Good condition

Skate: Good condition 

Bennett Lake

Bennett lake is currently being reset for both classic and skate tracks.

Due to a delay west side trails are being finished and should be done by 9:30 am   

East side trail skate lanes were groomed this morning and classic track was set March 26 

Classic - Fair with good sections be aware of some icy things sections on Fox Trail.  

Skate - Good to Fair
