Welcome to December!  Despite the warm temperatures during the day, the nights have been cold and the snow on the shady areas has hung on.  The November snow was nice and dense, making a good base for us to start from.  The Forest Service crew got out today to do an initial trail packing and tree clearing in the cooler, shadier sections of trail.  Watch for stumps, rocks, and thin spots but things groomed out surprisingly well.  Blackmore loops, West Shore Trail, Grotto falls, and Sleeping Giant are all groomed.  Expect variable conditions and no classic tracks.

The road was plowed last week and is icey in the shade but easily driveable with caution and snow tires.
