Good morning Nordic friends,
We received a few inches of snow this morning and it looks beautiful. Unfortunately, this snow will be our double edged sword today. While it helped freshen up what ice I was able to grind out yesterday. It has not been enough to open the trails that we lost with last week's rain and warm temperatures. That rain and warm temperatures turned the remaining snow into sheer ice. This sheer ice still sits under two inches of snow in many spots protected by the sun. If I haven't groom it, chances are it's because of a lack of base or its sheer ice. Sad but true. Much of our network will remain closed for safety. The middle to upper section of vista is a good example. I groomed from the top down and exposed ice and gravel. I was only able to groom to the far intersection of sunnybreeze on snowbrook. Be aware!
Check out our Sugarloaf Outdoor Center Facebook page for more information and updates.
Please enjoy what we have, and have a safe wonderful day out there!
