With new snow falling into the morning yesterday and temperatures well below freezing the trails will be still be soft. The skate lanes and classic tracks have been groomed and look good. Expect the trails to have a soft powder surface. Moose has two persistent wet areas, easily identified by the yellow ice, you can pick your way past these two spots, the rest  of the trail is excellent.

Our only closed trails are Corkscrew and The Drop, our two black rated trails, they will need a foot or more snow before we can open them, once we have the Flying Moose race safely in the books after Sunday, we can devote some time to these last two trails, with more snow on the way we expect to be able to open Corkscrew in a few days and have our fingers crossed that The Drop can be opened too.

You may see some additionally groomed trails and areas that are not normally part of the groomed system, we are prepping for the Flying Moose race on Sunday, but feel free to use any groomed areas and cut offs.

Fat bike and snowshoe trails will be little soft in places even after they were groomed yesterday but should be setting up well. If you are feeling adventurous and maybe want to check out the summit of Peter Grover’s Hill only use the sections of ski trails that are marked, and we ask that if you are sinking in more than 1.5” please do not use those trails.
