Jan 17th: Grooming took place at Mt Shark on Thursday with snow flurries falling throughout the grooming shift. When grooming was completed some of the trails groomed earlier in the day had accumulated about 2 to 4cm's of snow on top of the fresh grooming. All trails were groomed and mostly trackset as normal- some larger dips and bumps are still preventing full tracksetting. Only 1 to 4cm's had accumulated on the trails over the last week, and with the base quite firm and thin, more dirt and rocks were exposed in a few places.
The base is quite thin and below normal for this time of year, and as there has not been substantial snow to push around yet this year, some early season natural hazards exist on most trails. These including bumps, uneven surfaces and drainage dips, possible ice, exposed brush, and a few places with exposed dirt and/or rocks.
