SHORT VERSION: +1.7 °C at 9:00 AM No grooming today, Friday. Based on the  forecast, trails should be softened up by around 10:00 or 11:00 AM. Snocat grooming planned for tomorrow.

LONG VERSION: No grooming today, so the team can work a night shift tonite (Friday) with the snowcats to get the trails in tip top shape again for the weekend. 

Today, Friday: Air temperatures should rapidly climb to +6+ °C by noonish, +11 °C by 3:00PM, with some light rain later this afternoon. With the current forecast of slightly freezing temperatures overnite, the snocats should be able to do a delightful job of refreshing both skate lanes & classic tracks overnite, so they firm up a bit for sunrise on Saturday. That's the plan, anyway!

Some trails are collecting smaller debris in the trackset (Iceman, Iceman Cutoff, Greenway Corridor), while Tigger, Pine Flats, Race Maze, & Hi-5 are still in relatively good condition.

FORECAST: Gazing boldly into the snow globe (notoriously less reliable than looking out the window), things are . . .  warming up. We expect late afternoon highs on Saturday & Sunday of  9 °C ish.

The clock is ticking toward Otway’s unofficial “best before” date. For now, though: trails are still skiable,  and lots of members are still squeezing joy out of every last  Winter #4 snowflake.
