Good morning from the CNC! It's going to be a warm one; the forecast shows temperatures of +6 early this morning and highs of +9 this afternoon which we can expect to cause soft snow conditions. Grooming is still in good shape, with many trails refreshed last night including Bow, Banff, and Meadowview (only to the meadow, not refreshed beyond). Safety note: with the warm weather we are getting, water is dripping off the bridges, which is creating ice pockets on the trail below. Also watch out for a lot of debris on the natural snow trails due to strong winds and use caution skiing on natural snow trails as the snowpack remains thin and conditions are marginal in areas.
Special Event Notice - CAMBAPalooza (Family-friendly winter festival)
Friday Feb 21 - Pin-Flagging on Race Route ahead of tomorrow's event. Set up of Obstacle course on Flag Row.
Saturday Feb 22, 9AM-2:30PM - Flag Row - Fat-Tire Biking race from 10:00AM. Skiers please use caution when skiing out of the Cross-country Stadium to connect to Banff Trail as riders will be crossing the ski trail to connect with the "FYI" singletrack. At approx. 10:15AM, runners will be departing the same way. Groups of riders will continue to utilize this trail heading into the afternoon for group rides. The Fat-Tire biking single track trails at the CNCPP will be in use all day by the CAMBAPalooza event.
