Tuesday Feb 4: More hot and sunny weather with temps in the mid 50'sF expected again today. The snowpack is transitioning rapidly and we are seeing variable conditions with numerous thin and melted out spots - ski with caution. Yesterday we groomed Moore Loop 20, Maroon Creek Loop 50, Oregon Trail and Northstar. Last night we did a complete skate and classic reset on all Aspen Golf Course Loop 10 trails including Teaching Loop 00 and Bernese Blvd, and groomed Owl Creek trail one lane wide, one way from Tiehack to Two Creeks and then groomed most of Snowmass Golf Loop 60 and Lab Lane before the snow froze up and the snow cat was ineffective. We will likely alter our grooming patterns with the expected hot and sunny weather and will need skiers to stay off of the trails in the early evening when we are grooming to allow the snow to set up and not leave deep trenches in the new groom. Masters ski clinics continue tomorrow at the Aspen Cross Country Center at noon. Have a great day skiing.
