We have had a beautiful October so far! This weekend Looks to be a great one for getting out on the trails before we get some cooler temps and possible precipitation next week. As always, pack extra layers and a headlamp for fall adventures.

Sheep herds are moving out of our valley. Forest Service reports herds are scheduled to be off all the grazing allotments by October 25th.

Forest Service reports:

Warm Springs Band This band is entering Panther Gulch sometime today 10/14. They will graze in the Panther Gulch area for the week before trailing off via Wolftone on 10/20.

Limekiln Band This band will truck into the Limekiln area on 10/20. They will graze from Limekiln towards Cow Creek. They will truck off the Allotment by 10/25. (Trail 180)

NOTES & REMINDERS:

Galena Lodge is closed for the summer season and will reopen for the winter season early December.

SNRA Head Quarters is closed for the summer season.

Stage 1 Fire restrictions have been lifted: Lifting the restrictions means the public is free to build campfires, use a charcoal barbecue, or smoke outside of designated campgrounds and recreation sites.
However, fire managers would like to remind the public that wildfires can be prevented year-round by following a few simple tips:

Never leave a campfire unattended.
Always keep water, dirt, and a shovel near a fire.
Make sure your fire is dead out and cold to the touch before leaving it.
Never use fireworks, exploding targets, or tracer rounds on or near public land.

Quigley: The first ¼ mile of Quigley Road is closed July 8 - October 31. If you are recreating out Quigley Canyon, follow the detour signs.

Quigley Hill Trailhead/parking and trail access from trailhead is open.
