Trails are in great shape after the wet weather we had in our area, especially north valley trails that received more rain throughout the week.

Forest Service reports that all trails are open, and crews will continue to perform maintenance throughout the summer.

Sun Valley Company reports that scenic lift access is open Wednesday - Sunday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., and lift-assisted biking opened July 1. Though Saddle Up and Lupine trails will remain closed for the season, more trails are now open. River Run Trail, Mindbender, and Pale Rider opened Wednesday, July 1, for mountain bike access.

Our trails will be busier throughout July. Please respect trail etiquette and stay safe out there!

Sheep

Forest Service reports:

Deer Creek Band: This band is grazing near Sullivan and Enclosure Creeks. They will graze up high toward Poison Flat and Lupine Gulch. (Trails 157, 152)
Warm Springs Band: This band is grazing between Greenhorn Creek and Mahoney Butte. They will move up high near Lodgepole Gulch. (Trails 156, 310, 819, 821)
Baker Creek Band: This band is grazing at the top of the East Fork of Baker. They are grazing from Easley Gulch to the top of Oregon Gulch. (Trails 148, 183)
Limekiln Band: This band will be in the Limekiln Corrals and will be shipped to the Owl Creek allotment near Prairie Creek on 07/02.
Shaw Creek: This band is grazing near the top of Meadow Creek in the South Fork of Warm Springs. They will graze toward Trouble Canyon.
Lake Creek Band: This band is grazing southwest of the fishing ponds in Lake Creek. They will continue to graze northwest toward the headwaters of Lake Creek.
Corral Creek Band: This band is grazing in Corral Creek near where Corral Creek meets Trail Creek Road. They will graze up into Uncle John's Gulch.
Elkhorn Band: This band is at the top of Boundary Gulch. They will graze up the gulch and cross into Parker Gulch just north of Proctor Mountain. (Trail 119)
Cove Creek Band: This band has yet to reach the Cove Creek allotment and is still grazing on BLM land south of Cove Creek.

NOTES & REMINDERS:

SNRA Headquarters will be open weekdays from 8:30 to 4:30, June 15–September 7th.

Fox Creek (KRD & WRTC)

Helicopter fly date: week of July 13–17 (exact day TBA). Forest Service will fly the bridge in and close the drainage. This will be a hard closure.
Work is occurring in the construction zone. Please be aware of equipment on the trail and be patient when encountering crews. Give the crews a wide berth, make eye contact with equipment operators, and follow their instructions when passing.
There will be other short-term impacts to the trail system and access throughout the summer. Please be adaptable when in the area; your intended route may need to change.

Elk calving closures at Galena and on Baldy have been lifted.

The Wood River Trail will be extra busy over the holiday weekend.

Here are a few quick reminders to help everyone stay safe out there.

Travel at a safe and reasonable speed.
Use your voice or a bell when passing.
Be sure you can hear; keep one ear free so you can stay aware of your surroundings.
Keep dogs leashed or under voice control.
Use lights and reflective gear if you are on the WRT during low light.
