December 20th Grooming Report

December Teewinot Fun!

Many thanks to Coach Libby for sending in some great images and a report: “December Teewinots enjoyed an adventure to the Yeti’s house this afternoon and were delighted to discover some surprises that the Yeti delivered.”

“We also discovered a beautiful nappy snowman in the lower east fields!”

Starting January 6th not just the December Teewinots, but all the Teewinots as well as the Lollipoppers will be cruising the trails of Trails Creek.  If you’re lucky enough to encounter one of these groups of small skiers on a Nordic outing, it can’t help but bring a little extra joy to your life, thanks to all the energetic coaches that make all the youth skiing happen and have a great season!

Even though you probably won’t encounter any groups of tiny skiers today, you can still find plenty of joy on a Trail Creek outing.  Today’s Husky grooming covered nearly every trail with most field trails receiving multiple passes.  About half of the woods trails currently have classic tracks and while skiing quite nicely, aren’t quite as wide as they will be later in the winter (if the snow keeps coming).  Also today many of the trail signs went out and in a few places the Husky did some snow plowing to cover some problem areas.

Some of our IMD skiers are racing today at the Rocky Mountain Nordic races in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, you can follow along here.  The latest hourly forecast is calling for snow to begin Saturday night with 4-5 inches falling by Christmas Eve.

Groomer’s choice for today is the lovely and sunny, currently 25ºF Close Field.
