Good morning from the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center! We start the day with a modest breeze and remnants of yesterday's gusts. Conditions are expected to remain relatively consistent with temps in the low 30's, nudging into the mid 30's by end of day with a chance of light snow flurries under cloudy skies. The snow temp dipped a degree from yesterday to -4*C/25*F, with a ski surface that is firmly packed and showing signs of transformation. The glide should start effortlessly fast, with a gentle softening throughout the morning hours. Today you'll find refreshed skate cord and classic tracks on all of the Upper trails (green/beginner) with Woody's Way, Easy Back, Easy Up, and Upper Devecka's ready for action in the Mids (blue/intermediate). Our groomers tackled Lower Devecka's Dive, while Leslie's is open sporting yesterday's groom in the Lower (black/advanced) portion of the network. We have Yellow, Orange and Red snowshoe trails open and set for our winter-warriors. Bring your own snowshoes or pick up a pair in our rental shop and you're set for adventure!

The 23rd Annual Great Nordeen XC Ski Race is tomorrow, March 14th! Due to low snow conditions on the traditional course (Mt Bachelor to Wanoga Sno Park), this year's event will run entirely on the Mt Bachelor Nordic trails linking up favorites including Upper and Lower Devecka's, Leslie's Lunge, Rich's Range, and Woody's Way. Choose from 11.5k or 23k distance options. With fresh snow on the trails and more on the way, conditions are shaping up for a wintry and exciting race! Registration closes at 5pm tonight, so head on over to https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=409261 to support MBSEF and enter this iconic Central Oregon Nordic event. Please note that this year's event will not include a fatbike race.
