Apr 2nd: A heavy snowfall began late Wednesday evening and about 3 cm of snow had accumulated by the end of grooming. Over the past week, scattered flurries have brought 30-40 cm of snow to the park (depending on elevation) including last Wednesday's 25 cm dump.  Grooming is planned to take place at Mount Shark on Thursday, returning to PLPP on Friday night.
There could be some sitting water or ice in some places, but the ice flow on Elk Pass (near the North Hydroline junction) has been covered up, though the warning signage remains in place for now. There is an ice flow/puddle on Packers Trail in the meadow where Frozen Toad snowshoe trail crosses Packers. The ice flows on Come Along and Rolly Road were much improved by the most recent snowfall, but may return with the warm day time temperatures. Expect older grooming to have a mix of powder snow, with glazed and crusty sections, and tracks skier set or skier packed. Daily highs have remained just above freezing this week and the strong Spring sunshine will bring glazing or icy sections to sun exposed areas.

The ski trails in PLPP were not designed for, nor do they accommodate skate skiing, as there is not room to skate ski without ruining the classic tracks, which are machine set once a week on each trail. For skate skiing, choose one of the many areas in the region that are suited for the activity, such as Mt Shark or the CNC.
