Since 1976, together with our staff, a three-person elected Board of Directors, partners, supporters and volunteers, we have brought affordable, accessible and quality recreation to Blaine County residents and visitors.

August 14, 2026

After an extended hot period, cooler temperatures are just what we needed. Get out on the trails and enjoy them!

If you have been in Hailey this week, you may have noticed a lot of activity in Quigley Canyon. BCRD is working on two separate projects to improve recreation opportunities there. First, BLM and BCRD are building a connecting trail from BLM’s Golden Hour to BCRD’s Quigley Loop above the Quigley pond. If everything goes well, the new trail should open later this fall. BCRD is also improving Quigley Trails Park with new sports fields and updates around the paved pump track. This project will take up to 18 months to complete so the turf has time to establish. Though there is a lot of activity around the trailheads, the trails are still open. Please stay aware and give the work crew space.

Sun Valley Company reports that all of Baldy will be closed due to helicopter activity on Saturday, August 15th. The City of Ketchum is building the Warm Springs Connector, a new trail from the Warm Springs Preserve to River Run on the west side of the river. During construction, the Bald Mountain Trail from River Run to the Traverse Trail and the French Connection cat-track will remain closed until sometime this fall.

Enjoy the trails!
