Good afternoon

The grooming crew went out this morning with the Ginzu and two snowmobiles to evaluate the trail systems.

The good news is that there is still snow on 90-95 % of the trail system. The trails that were groomed with the PB before the rain still have a layer of packed snow/ice on them We were able to chew up the snow a bit with the ginzu in the area that show as groomed today.  If we get 12-15 cm of snow, we will be in great shape

The bad news is that there quite a few water cuts, wet spots and rocks showing on the trails and the snow will be quite fast and difficult to edge.  If you fall it will be a hard landing.  We would suggest alternate forms of exercise, perhaps doing a snow dance.

If you are desperate to ski, are an accomplished freestyle (skate) skier and have rock skis, the upper trails (3.5 km, 5 km and 7.5 km without Ronskis loop) are the smoothest but you will still have to walk in places.  Do not carry much speed on the downhills until you have identified where the bare patches and water courses are.

The FSR is a mess due to snowmobile traffic when it was soft  and is not skiable at this time.
