Nordic Pulse

Thanks to the generous support of the cross-country ski community and Nordiq Alberta, the following Nordic Pulse trail reports are being tracked for the 2021/22 ski season.

During the 2020/2021 winter season, funds from the sale of parking passes and public donations enabled Nordiq Alberta to reimburse Alberta Environment and Parks for the cost of ski trail grooming and to obtain a modest fund to sustain and enhance local ski trails. This fund was accessed to provide Nordic Pulse trails reports for areas listed below for one year.

Skate lanes were groomed on lower Blue and lower Green trails. Snow is holding well on this loop. No tracks were set so expect a touch of snow covering icy tracks where they are still useable. The driving range loop and training lanes, classic and skate are holding up well. The stadium area was groomed but is icy under the skiff of new snow. It’s time for a heavy snow fall!!

Happily the temperatures dropped below zero overnight and this will help the ski tracks to firm up. As of last night's grooming: Goldbar: trails groomed for skating and classical tracks re-set: treeline, woodcutters, Hadhirgaan, lake loop. Treeline groomed for skate as existing classical tracks remain firm and in good shape. Capilano: skating lanes re-set. Existing classic tracks remain in place to ensure the most stable/firm classic track. Goldstick: skating and classical tracks on creek-crossing loop, creek crossing and switchbacks. Southloop: the team is doing trail maintenance on the south loop in the daylight this morning to increase our ability to groom in various conditions moving forward. Look for an update on grooming for skiing in the next day. Have a great day and happy trails from your Edmonton Nordic Grooming Team
